After carrying out studies on rare diseases in the world by the Foundation and adjustment of the Foundation’s literature with studies’ outcome the Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran (RADOIR) was registered at the Company Registration General Office based on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s as well as the international rules and regulations and the Foundation started its official activities started since October 2008.
Activities of the Foundation, inter alia, have so far included the following:
October 30th 2009- Organizing the 1st meeting of the RADOIR’s Board of Trustees (on the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (pbuh).
December 29th 2009- Commencement of the construction work for building the RADOIR’s main office in Tehran.
Setting up the most advanced Iranian medical imaging center (Parsian Medical Imaging Center); this center is working round the clock and is rendering medical services in favor of rare disease patients with several imaging modalities including CT scan spiral, full digital radiography, MRI, Super Digital Mammography, Sonography Color Doppler, BMD (Bone Mineral Density),biopsy and intervention, medical diagnosis laboratory, Pathobiology and Genetics, EEG (Electroencephalogram), Electro-diagnostic testing, EMG,MDS: Intra-operative micro-vascular Doppler sonography, setting up specialty and sub-specialty clinics for early diagnosis of diseases (24 hrs.).
Opening of the Eqlid Imaging Center with the support extended by the Rear Diseases Foundation of Iran and the assistance of Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Bagher Movahed Abtahi in Eqlid city within the Fars province on the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (pbuh) on July 17th 2013.
Extending assistance in setting up and operation of the Mazandaran Imaging Center with cooperation of Surgeon and Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Ketabchi, the prominent neurologist in order to give services to patients in Mazandaran province.
Commencement of the construction work for building diagnostic and medical treatment complexes for rare diseases in West Azerbaijan province Urumieh.
Establishment of nine RADOIR’s (Rare Diseases Foundation of Iran) provincial offices in country including: West Azerbaijan province (Urumieh), Tehran (Valiye Asr, Jamalzadeh and Poonak districts), Fars province (Shiraz and Eqlid),Mazandaran province (Sari and Babol), Hamedan province (Hamedan city) to create a desirable atmosphere for collecting information on rare disease patients and rendering relevant services.
Extending invitation to Mr. Paolo Tozzi, the regional representative of the Novartis multinational pharmaceutical company for embarking on cooperation for supply drugs required by the patients suffering from rare diseases.
Facilitating the visit by Safiodin Monir, president of UNICEF, to the foundation and the foundation’s completed projects and achievements.
Setting up MRI department if Firoozgar Hospital in 2014.
